Colony is a circular, projected video installation. The 18 minute video loop is intended to be projected on a wall in the corner of an empty, white room. With handheld camerawork and a spotlight, the video uncovers a trail of ants along the perimeter of a dark room. At times, the imaged architecture merges with the three dimensional space, manipulating the viewer's perception and conflating the two separate spaces.
